Session I
Sports Camp: Beresford's first session will focus on Yoga, Soccer, and Basketball. The sports camp will be challenging, exciting, and fun for all levels of skill. The children will learn the basic rules of each sport and will also develop important leadership and teamwork skills. During both basketball and soccer days, the children will focus on dribbling drills, passing drills, and shooting drills.

Session II
Cooking Camp: Beresford's second session will focus on important culinary skills such as incorporating safety, sanitation, nutrition, and math into the preparation of fun and delicious recipes. Our recipes will include foods from around the world, baking, and more!

Session III
Music and Art Appreciation: Beresford's third session will focus on Music appreciation taught by Teacher Liz. The music camp will include: Kazoos, Cymbals, and Dance.

Kazoos: The kazoo is a fun instrument that helps the children develop a controlled breath and to create various shapes of sound. We will begin with making our own kazoos out of paper holders and waxed paper before we move on to a plastic, colored kazoo. Each child will have their own to use at every class. The children will use the kazoo to create sound effects and to play the melody of familiar songs.

Cymbals: Cymbals enhance visual and auditory perception, hand and eye coordination and counting skills. Each child reads symbols on a chart while playing their instrument. Cymbals are used to teach the children to keep steady, even beats while counting note values and rests.

Slide Whistle: This instrument is a clear, plastic whistle with a sliding handle. The children blow into the whistle and move the handle either up or down. The musical effect created is called portamento. Portamento is a continuous gliding movement and sound from one tone to another. Dictation: The children watch and listen. Then they hold up one hand, parallel to the floor, count to four and copy with their bands and voices what they see and bear. Note value: The combinations played imitate whole notes, quarter notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes all in 4/4 time. The exercise continues to include a variety of tied Dote values.

Art Appreciation: We will learn about various artists and explore new art skills by doing ceramics, using oil pastels, painting, mosaic art, etc.
